Rigel and Qiana were blessed with their first child, Rylan J'Adore.
Brother Dawson grew up attending the Cameron Ave. Church of Christ and was
baptized by his grandfather, the late Orum L. Trone, Sr., in July of 1986. Ordained to
the ministry in 1997 by his grandfather, Brother Dawson began to serve the Elmwood
Park congregation as minister in 1998. He faithfully served the church there until
January of 2008. He began ministering to the North Central congregation of the Lord’s
church in January of 2009.
Brother Dawson has been a featured speaker at workshops, conferences, and
lectureships across the country. He has also done foreign mission work in Panama,
worked extensively with young people, and developed several courses of study,
including his Soul-Winning series on personal evangelism.
Brother Dawson currently serves as the vice-president and program chairman of
the Michigan Youth Workers Association of the Churches of Christ (MYWA), an
organization dedicated to strengthening Christian youth through spiritual and social
programs such as the annual Youth Retreat and State Youth Conference of Michigan.

Rigel J. Dawson was born and raised in Detroit,
Michigan. He graduated with honors from Notre
Dame High School and went on to attend Wayne State
University in Detroit, where he earned his Bachelor of
Arts degree in psychology. He has completed some
course work toward his Masters degree in clinical
psychology. In September of 2003, Rigel married his
beautiful wife Qiana, who has become his partner in
life, love, and labor for the Lord. In November 2010,
